Contrasting sill repair

One failed end of an older stone sill is repaired with a dark matte metal plate, exposed fixings and a narrow drainage joint. The newer material remains distinct from the surviving stone. The building owner maintains it; a failed fixing or seal leaves a stain and another repair. The rest of the sill, stoop and masonry retain their age. See The city in 2048 and Place lens: New York.
