The strange thing

Once in a while, something only this city could do: a chip that remembers a week its owner does not; a sensor blackout that makes a neighbourhood lawless for a night; a voice clone of someone dead; a delivery robot that keeps coming back to the same door with nobody steering it. Rare, specific, never explained.
