Bus drone docks

A transit operator's bus carries one flat pale roof cassette and modular side docks for ground robots. Horizontal top panels slide in the plane of the roof so flying drones lift vertically from secured ports. Flying drones launch and recover whether the bus is stopped or moving. Ground robots board and leave their side docks only while the bus is stopped, using a short narrow bridge or ramp sized to the dock. Quiet lights and service joints mark the equipment. Passenger doors, accessible boarding, emergency exits and maintenance access remain clear. A failed latch, charger or interlock takes the affected dock out of service. See Getting around, Drones, Delivery robots and Batteries.
